Silicone resin for mold manufacturing

Intercol has broadened its segment resins, mainly based on polyurethanes, from now on silicone resins are available as well. This silicone resin is particularly used fo the manufacturing of molds, where the silicone improves the releasing of the product from the mould.

The silicone resin (two components, 2K) performs very well and has the following features:

Good release properties
Good flow and long processing time
Average hardness
High tensile strength (tough)
Very elastic, for use in complex shapes
In thixotropic (thick) variant available for vertical shapes

The colour of the silicone resin is off-white. The standard working time is 90-120 minutes (gelling time). The viscosity is around 20.000 M.pas. The silicone resin is very suitable for casting polyurethane products. This sillicone resin is also usable for casting plaster and polyester products.
